About the Museum
Who we are!
The Palmer Museum of History and Art is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) membership corporation. Our nine member Board of Directors, membership and staff are dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and art of the Greater Palmer Region.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of the PMHA is to collect, care for, exhibit and interpret items that depict the history of the Greater Palmer Region. The museum's collections will contain items that best depict the region's history, exploration, settlement, agriculture and trade, cultural and social development.

Our Goals are...
 To contribute to the cultural, education and tourism development of the Greater Palmer Region
 To maintian the highest professional and aesthetic standards expected of a regional historical museum
 To provide adequate facilities to accommodate the programs and services of the museum
 To maintain a competent and well trained museum staff
 To maintain financial stability through adequate fundraising, community support and prudent fiscal management
 To develop and maintain a positive public image and community relationship
Long Range Plans
 Acquire legal title to undocumented property
 Register, photo and label the entire collection
 Develop and expand staff to include a full-time curator and part-time support staff
 Expand fundraising
 Expand Volunteer involvement
 Purchase and restore a local historical building as the main museum site
 Improve and expand exhibits and collections
 Develop, improve and expand educational programs
 Provide ongoing historical tours
 Upgrade conservation of collections
 Upgrade Museum security
